Dear Patient,

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. We are happy to announce that we will be reopening our office. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing at our office has remained the same: our commitment to your health and safety.

As you have likely seen during your visits to our office, infection control has always been a top priority for our practice. Our infection control processes have consistently made the care you receive at St. Peter Family Dental Center is both safe and comfortable.

We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe. Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We continue to closely monitor and follow the recommendations of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. Due to COVID 19, you can expect some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:

Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you arrive for your appointment  along with having your temperature taken.

We will ask that you wait in your car until we are ready to see you.  Please call the office once you arrive and our clinical team member will be alerted that you are here and will come to the parking lot to get you for your appointment.

We ask that you bring with and wear your own mask or face covering to and from the office.

We have installed glass barriers at the front desk and will ask that you use distancing measures if you need to stop at the desk.

We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.

Our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.

Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.

We will do our best to allow more time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.

Our staff may be wearing additional protective equipment, which will be changed in between each patient, in order to keep our patients as safe as possible.

We ask that you come to your appointment unaccompanied in order to limit the number of people in the office.  If it is necessary to have someone accompany you to your appointment we will  limit it to 1 person.  If possible, we would ask this person to please stay in the car instead of waiting in the waiting room, while you receive dental care.

We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we are taking to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office at 507-931-1230 or visit our website at

Thank you for your support during this difficult time. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends in the safest way possible

Wellness Director

Shelly Kirchoff - Wellness Director

In support of St. Peter Family Dental’s mission (or objectives), I leverage over 25 years of experience in the industry to promote the importance of dental health to businesses and employees in the surrounding communities. This involves networking at community events, representation at organizations’ individual company health fairs, and attending company meetings, where I consult on proper care, answer questions, and distribute oral care kits to promote healthy teeth. It is a joy to share how St. Peter Family Dental provides excellent care to all their patients at their progressive and caring dental office.

Give Kids A Smile

We donate our time and services to children without a dental home each year in February. We do preventive and restorative dentistry at no charge for children under 18.

Saint Peter Halloween Fun Run

We donate hot cocoa and coffee to the participants in the Saint Peter Halloween Fun Run 5K held every year by the Saint Peter Chamber of Commerce and The Pulse Fitness. We love to give back to the community through this event and we believe it makes Saint Peter a great city.
